The Best Pixar Movies Ranked, From ‘Inside Out 2’ to ‘Toy Story’

Pixar is known for making imaginative, heartwarming movies that are enjoyable for kids and adults alike.

Boraq Hamim Art News website_ Since the first Toy Story movie came out in 1995, the studio has leveraged animated storytelling to tap into the human experience in unexpected, humbling and beautiful ways.

Its filmmakers have explored our struggles with tragedy, loss and grief (including even questions about the meaning of life), as well as our experiences with love, family and friendship. Pixar’s latest film, Inside Out 2, encourages us to look inward at our emotions and what really matters, following a blueprint of introspection and inspiration that all its films abide by.

All 28 Pixar Animation Studios films delve into emotional themes in different ways, which makes ranking them no easy task. It’s inevitable this list will ruffle some feathers, but it’s a testament to how much these movies mean to audiences.

In determining rankings, we examined five key attributes of each film: plotline, characters, depth, cultural impact and rewatchability. This helped with the tough task of figuring out which of these truly great Pixar movies should top the list.

Here’s our ranking of the best Pixar movies in order of least crowd-pleasing to the most beloved.

1. Cars 2 (2011): Cars was really good, but this is a sequel that focuses more on the action scenes than the heartwarming moments.

2. The Good Dinosaur (2015): This film is known for its outstanding animation, but is ranked lower due to the high standard of Pixar films.

3. Cars 3 (2017): It has a better story than Cars 2, but it still doesn’t live up to the other Pixar movies.

4. Finding Dory (2016): This sequel repeats the story of Finding Nemo and has less emotional depth.

5. Lightyear (2022): Visually stunning, but seems more likely to capitalize on the success of Toy Story.

6. Luca (2021): A fun coming-of-age story, but lacks the narrative creativity and emotional depth of other Pixar films.

7. Inside and Out 2 (2024): This film captures new emotions well but sometimes relies too much on the success of the previous version.

8. Elenri (2023): This movie is very outstanding in terms of animation and characters, and it has a heartbreaking story.

9. Monsters University (2013): A fun prequel that works well on its own.

10. Cars (2006): Pixar’s magic of inhuman characterization is well executed in this film. FacebookTwitterEmailWhatsAppLinkedInTelegramPinterestPrintCopy LinkShare
