Art galleries, after three months of closure, have opened a new window toward art

With the end of the nearly three‑month shutdown, the capital’s art galleries reopened on Friday and are once again welcoming enthusiasts of the visual arts. This event, occurring after a long hiatus, heralds the revival of cultural and artistic activities in a vibrant and lively atmosphere.

According to the Borāq Hamim Art News Agency – Tehran, Iran – although some galleries had resumed their activities since last week, they faced challenges in effective online publicity. As a result, a large portion of their audience was informed of art events through more traditional means such as phone calls, SMS messages, or limited communication on social networks.

This wide reopening provides a valuable opportunity for artists to showcase their works and for audiences to once again experience creative spaces. With improved publicity and more precise planning, a renewed flourishing of the art community is expected, keeping the light of visual arts events consistently shining.

Upcoming Art Events in Tehran Galleries:
Dena Gallery will host the group drawing exhibition “War Scribbles” starting Friday, April 30 (11 Ordibehesht), continuing until May 8 (18 Ordibehesht). The exhibition offers a space for reflection on the theme of war through drawing.

Aaran Projects will host the group exhibition “The Narrators” from May 1 to June 4 (11 Ordibehesht to 15 Khordad), providing an opportunity to tell stories and experiences through artworks.

Avad Gallery is hosting “Yellow Silence” by Beeta Alimehr from today, and the exhibition will run until further notice.

Behzad Kahaki’s works, titled “Before Anything Else, These Are Beautiful,” will be displayed at Gallery33 from May 1 to May 7 (11–17 Ordibehesht). This collection focuses on visual aesthetics.

Asr Gallery will hold the group exhibition “Earth and Time” from May 1 to May 15, exploring the relationship between humans, nature, and the passage of time.

The group exhibition “Language, Silence, Body” will be held at Zhura Gallery from May 1 to May 5, examining nonverbal communication in art.

Bavan Gallery will host the group exhibition “Home” from May 1 to May 17, offering a space for reflection on the concept of home and belonging.

Zirzamin Dastan will present the group show “Update 14.0” from May 1 to May 5, addressing transformation and renewal in art.

Meanwhile, “Dast Sheyd 2,” a gathering of Iranian designers, is being held on April 29 and 30 (10–11 Ordibehesht) at the Dast Platform.

Keiman Gallery will host the group exhibition “Incident” at Plaque 10 from May 1 to May 4.

In Isfahan, Safavi Gallery will display “Untitled,” a photography exhibition by Mohsen Babaahmadi, from May 1 to May 6.
