Professor Mohammad Sadegh Saif, a prominent Lorestan calligrapher, was born in 1314 in Khorram Abad city. After completing his childhood and elementary education, he continued his studies in petroleum engineering and English language.
Buraq Hamim art news site , the love and interest in the art of calligraphy led Master Saif to this noble art in 1338. At first, he studied Nastaliq script with prominent professors such as Sayyed Mohammad Taqi Ghazi Tabatabai and Ali Akbar Kaveh, and after that, with great effort and perseverance, he became proficient in Tholt, Naskh, and Mohaghegh scripts.
During his years of artistic activity, Master Saif created many valuable works that were displayed in numerous exhibitions inside and outside the country. Also, he played a significant role in the education and upbringing of outstanding students, and prominent calligraphers gained favor from him.

Received the master’s degree of calligraphy and the certificate of excellence from the Iran calligraphers’ association
Appreciation and honor in the 15th Razavi National Calligraphy Festival
Appreciated by the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance in 1400
Publication of the book “Gazari Ber Khorramabad Calligraphy” written by Iraj Tulabi, in conversation with professor Saif
In addition to the art of calligraphy, Professor Mohammad Sadegh Saif was also active in the field of music. He was a master oud player and was also proficient in reciting the Qur’an with an eloquent Arabic tone.
On March 12, 1402, at the age of 88, Master Saif accepted the call of truth and rushed to Diyar Al-Baghi. His loss was an irreparable loss for the artistic community of Iran, especially Lorestan province.
