“Online Release of ‘Babei the Hero’ and Introduction of Pars Theater Festival Selection Committee”

Iran’s highest-grossing animated film, Babei the Hero, has been made available for free on online platforms, coinciding with the announcement of the selection committee members for the second Pars Theater Festival.

According to Boraq Hamim Art News Agency, two significant artistic events rooted in Iranian-Islamic culture have captured the attention of cinema and theater enthusiasts. On one hand, the animated film Babei the Hero—a symbol of committed art and ethical storytelling—has been released for free on digital platforms following its remarkable box office success. On the other hand, the selection committee for the second Pars Theater Festival, focused on stage and non-stage performances, has been unveiled.

 Pars Theater Festival: Renowned Professors to Judge Submissions

The selection committee for the second Pars Theater Festival includes three distinguished professors from Pars University of Architecture and Art: Milad Nikabadi, Hamed Shafikhah, and Siavash Ghaedi. From May 12 to 15, they will evaluate entries advancing to the festival’s review phase. Selected works will compete in various categories starting June 7. Emphasizing the promotion of theatrical arts aligned with Iranian-Islamic values, the festival aims to spotlight emerging talents in the country’s theater scene.

Babei the Hero: A 3D Tale of Hope and Perseverance

The animated film Babei the Hero, directed by Hossein Saffarzadegan and Meysam Hosseini, and produced by Mohammad Mehdi Mashkouri, has now been made freely accessible on platforms such as FilmNet, Rubika, Tamashakhune, Digiton, and SHAD. Last year, the film attracted over 1.5 million viewers and grossed nearly 70 billion tomans, cementing its status as Iran’s highest-grossing animated feature.

Crafted with 3D animation, Babei the Hero delivers an inspirational narrative centered on the maxim, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Produced by the Artistic Media Organization OJ in collaboration with Ghābre Roya Institute and Raimon Media, the film underscores the power of determination through its engaging storytelling.
