Building of Winband Electronics Corporation, Jubi / XRANGE Architects

Boraq Hamim art news site , this project is the Winbond Electronics Corporation building in Zhubei city in Taiwan, which was designed by XRANGE architecture office. The building consists of 19 office floors and in order to provide welfare and improve the conditions of employees and preserve the environment and environmental education, the basic principles of the company are based on the key instructions of the environment.

The purpose of designing this building was to create an active and dynamic work environment with green energy and human focus. In this building, the concept of “green bouquet” has been used as a place for rest and physical and mental recovery. These “green bouquets” have been placed on the building in the form of “wave branches” and have given the building a wave and regular design.

The wave design of the Winband building has responded to the analysis of the effect of the sun’s thermal radiation. In the summer season, instead of direct sunlight on the large and flat facade, vertical shadows are created that move over the building during the day. In the winter season, wave crests lead to favorable thermal radiation. In this way, the walls stay cool in summer and warm in winter.

The Winbond building includes a floor with a restaurant and garden space, a gym and a yoga studio. Also, on the ground floor there is a cafe and an exhibition gallery that deals with environmental protection and awareness of environmental issues. Wood has been widely used in the design of the building, and in the main lobby of the building, wooden design has been used as a design language for the facade and partitions.

The conference hall of the Winband building is also designed with a special wooden roof, which is based on the traditional Chinese “dugong” structure.

The building includes facilities such as restaurant, garden space, gym and yoga studio. There is also a cafe and an exhibition gallery on the ground floor of the building. Wood has been widely used in the design of the building, and in the main lobby, wooden design has been used for the facade of the building. Also, the conference hall of the building is designed with a wooden ceiling and is inspired by the traditional Chinese structure “Dugong”.

Architecture in the city of Yazd

The architecture of Yazd city uses different techniques and patterns in order to take advantage of the air temperature and the temperature balance in the interior space of the structures, according to the weather conditions of the region. Below, we will examine several factors and architectural approaches used in this field:

1. Gardens and waters: Yazd is a dry city, and to reduce the air temperature and create a temperature balance in the interior of buildings, it is common to use gardens and waters as elements of cooling and natural ventilation. Gardens and green spaces inside and outside buildings prevent direct sunlight and also cool the air by evaporating water. Waters can also be used as elements of the interior design of the building to help with evaporation, ventilation and cooling in the interior spaces of the structure.

2. Windmills: Windmills or turrets are used in Yazd architecture to take advantage of the strong and cool winds that exist in Yazd city. By using natural breathing and providing fresh air flow, these turrets cool the air and help to balance the temperature in the indoor spaces.

3. Stone walls: In traditional buildings of Yazd, it is common to use stone walls to insulate from heat and cold. Due to the thermal properties of stone and suitable thickness, these walls maintain the temperature balance in the interior spaces and prevent the penetration of external and internal heat.

4. Proper lighting: The use of proper lighting in buildings in order to provide proper lighting in indoor spaces and reduce the use of artificial lighting systems is usually considered. This helps to balance the temperature in the interior spaces.
