An exhibition named “In the name of Majesty Mother”

The latest exhibition of Mohammad Javad Shakohifar titled “In the name of Majesty Mother” will be held in Arsbaran Cultural Center.

In this place, 40 paintings created with Nastaliq script and under the protection of the mother’s position are displayed.

Among the types of calligraphy that have existed since the beginning of Islam, ” Nastaliq”  is considered the most beautiful type of calligraphy; In such a way that it has been nicknamed “the bride of Islamic lines”. Nastaliq, which is said to be a combination of two lines of cancellation and suspension, was perfected by Mir Ali Tabrizi and as a result, a new movement began.

The Nastaliq line has all the conditions of beauty; Among them: moderation, rhythm, stability, proportion, good composition and harmony of taste. In addition to the beauty of the landscape, the ease and speed of Nastaliq’s writing, as well as the ease of reading words and lines, have been the reasons for its popularity. Nastaliq is a line with a rule and the letters of this line are considered to be inspired by the beauty of nature.

In the last half century until today, the attention to Nastaliq calligraphy has been increasing and capable calligraphers have emerged in this field. Among the contemporary Nastaliq calligraphy artists who have tried to promote it in the contemporary era and have contributed to the prosperity and promotion of this type of calligraphy, we can mention Emad Al-Kattab, Seyed Hossein Mirkhani, Seyed Hassan Mirkhani, Ali Akbar Kaveh, etc.

The principles of Nastaliq calligraphy today are the same as Mir Emad Hosni had considered. The 13th century artist named Mohammad Reza Kalhor made changes in the framework of Mir Emad’s style, which played a major role in making it more beautiful and adapting it to the printing industry at that time. Mirza Gholamreza Esfahani is also one of the artists of this period who wrote Nastaliq very masterfully. However, the most obvious feature of Nastaliq is its beauty.

Shining in national and international calligraphy festivals such as Razavi Festival, Youth Visual Arts Festival, Yas Yasin, Ambassador and holding several specialized calligraphy workshops, participating in group exhibitions and holding individual exhibitions are part of Mohammad Javad Shokohifar’s artistic career.
